By booking and attending a treatment, it is taken as proof that you have read, understood and agree to the Terms and Conditions, and privacy notices as described. I understand that any treatments I may undertake are done so voluntarily on the understanding that I have read and abide by the Terms and Conditions and privacy notices.
Cancellation Policy:
A minimum of 24 hours’ advance notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment - please ensure you contact your therapist to either cancel or reschedule appointments (preferably by telephone). This 24 hour period is not inclusive of Saturday and Sunday.
In the event that you fail to provide the required advance notice you will be charged 100% of the treatment fees.
Charges will not be applied when the required cancellation notice is provided.
Clients who either forget or consciously choose to forgo their appointment without providing the required minimum notice will be considered a “no-show” and will be charged the full amount for their “missed” appointment. Please note that future services may be denied until payment is received.
Late Arrivals:
Appointment times have been arranged specifically - for late arrivals to a scheduled appointment, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours.
Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session, however we will do our best to satisfy the scheduled time.
Other Terms and Conditions:
Zero-Tolerance for Inappropriate Behaviour: This is a universal rule. Any illicit, sexually suggestive, abusive, threatening, or aggressive remarks or behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the session.
Professional Boundaries: Clients must understand that all treatments offered are strictly therapeutic and non-sexual. Professional boundaries, including appropriate draping (only the area being worked on is exposed), are maintained at all times. The Client must also wear the appropriate clothing for the massage (as stated by the therapist).
Right to Terminate Session: The therapist reserves the right to stop the treatment at any point if they feel unsafe or if the client's behaviour is inappropriate.
Payment for Terminated Sessions: If a session is terminated due to inappropriate client behaviour, the client will typically be charged the full price of the scheduled appointment, with no refund issued.
Conduct and Respect: Clients are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner towards all therapists and other clients.
No Intoxication: Treatment will not be provided to anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
Health and Safety Disclosure: Clients have a duty to provide accurate and true medical information and to keep their therapist updated on any changes in their health profile. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in the refusal of treatment or an adverse reaction for which the therapist is not liable.
There are some potential contraindications to having a massage treatment, this will be discussed on your first appointment, or if this occurs later in a course of treatment, then it will be re-evaluated and you will be informed if it is no longer appropriate to continue with your treatment. Treatments are NOT a substitute for medical examination or medical care. You must honour all existing and future medical practitioner appointments. It is NOT appropriate to stop any course of medication or treatment as prescribed by your GP or other healthcare professional without first discussing this with them. Any treatment provided should not be used in place of conventional medical care. Always consult your GP or a healthcare professional for medical attention and advice.
Hygiene Standards: Clients are asked to maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
Minor Clients: Clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must provide written consent and remain present in the room throughout the treatment. Treatments can be provided to 11 years upwards, a DBS certificate is available and can be provided for review if requested.
Client Responsibilities During a Session:
Open Communication: Clients should inform the therapist immediately if they experience any pain or discomfort during the massage so that pressure or techniques can be adjusted.
Follow Instructions: Clients must follow all reasonable and lawful instructions given by the therapist during the appointment.
Client Responsibilities After a Session:
Hydration: Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment to stay hydrated but also to help flush out toxins and metabolic waste products that were mobilised during the massage.
Rest: Allow yourself some time to rest and relax after the treatment. If exercising - consider gentle movements. Engage in low-impact activities like walking or stretching. Avoid strenuous exercise such as heavy lifting, or intense workouts for the remainder of the day. Resting will help your body fully absorb the benefits of the massage.
Diet: Consider having a light, healthy meal or snack after your treatment to replenish your energy levels. Avoid heavy or greasy foods that may make you feel sluggish.
Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Refrain from consuming alcohol or excessive caffeine immediately after your treatment, as they can dehydrate the body and counteract the relaxation achieved during the treatment.
Skin Care: If massage wax, oils or lotions were used, you may want to shower to remove any excess wax/oil/lotion from your skin. This can prevent any skin irritation and help you feel refreshed.
Observation: Pay attention to how your body feels in the hours and days following the treatment. Note any changes in swelling, discomfort, or tension, etc. This information can be valuable for assessing the effectiveness and informing future treatments.
Next Appointment: Regular treatments can maximise the benefits and maintain the desired results.
Follow Post-Operative Instructions: If you are receiving lymphatic drainage massage as part of post-operative care, follow any specific instructions provided by your surgeon or therapist regarding timing, frequency, and post-treatment care. In addition, If recommended by your therapist or medical professional of the use of compression garments or wraps, wear them as instructed to support the reduction of swelling and fluid retention.
